A boutique hotel expands the culinary experience of Miramar
Five suites facing the Mediterranean in Llançà

Sleeping above a two-Michelin-starred restaurant
The Pérez Serra family expands the universe of Miramar with five suites located directly above their two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Llançà. Miramar Suites completes the culinary experience right on the Mediterranean, offering an intimate sanctuary that seamlessly fuses family hospitality, high gastronomy, art, and landscape.
Three Generations at the Helm of a Single Vision
08/17/26
Miramar opened its doors in 1939 on Llançà’s seafront promenade, originally founded as a seaside venue by Montse Serra’s grandparents. Her parents later transformed it into an inn and restaurant, and in 1997, Serra assumed leadership alongside her husband, chef Paco Pérez.
The project has evolved into a fine-dining landmark boasting two Michelin stars, all while maintaining a deep bond with the region and the Mediterranean. In 2016, the family introduced Miramar Suites, taking over the first floor of the historic building that houses the restaurant.
The project also carries a clear generational continuity. Guillem Pérez Serra serves as host and maître d’, while Zaïra Pérez Serra leads the aMà bakery and workshop. The family lives just behind the establishment—a close physical proximity that defines their intimate, personal approach to hospitality.

Marine Cuisine, Terroir, and Artisanal Craft
The boutique accommodations complete the journey at the restaurant, where guests can choose between the à la carte menu and two distinct tasting menus.
Mar (€250): Showcases the latest sea-focused creations from chef Paco Pérez and head chef Julen Rodríguez.
Memoria, Territorio y Cultura (€220): Reinterprets traditional recipes through a contemporary lens.
The menu also highlights signature dishes like the beach rice with baby squid, prawns, seaweeds, and sand shrimp, a dish that connects directly to the coastal landscape of Llançà.
This commitment to craftsmanship extends to aMà, Miramar’s bakery, located in the space that previously housed the restaurant’s R&D lab. Here, sourdough bread, croissants, and pains au chocolat are baked daily—featured prominently at the guest breakfast and available to purchase as a gift from the stay.
Five Suites, the Mediterranean, and Warm Hospitality
Miramar Suites features five meticulously designed rooms, each named after species of seaweed: Aonori, Gracilaria, Laminaria, Posidonia, and Wakame. Four suites boast front-row sea balconies, while the fifth opens onto a private terrace overlooking the restaurant’s garden.
Each suite is curated with original artwork and culinary books, creating a cozy, residential atmosphere. Room rates are set at €325 throughout the year and €400 during August and New Year’s Eve.
The morning ritual begins with a chef’s breakfast, served during summer in the garden courtyard. Artisanal cheeses and cured meats from Alt Empordà, local organic produce, Eggs Benedict, seasonal fruits, fresh juices, and specialty coffee share the table with freshly baked goods from aMà.
The guest profile is primarily domestic (60% Spanish), followed by 30% French travelers, and 10% from other international destinations. Its location provides an ideal base to explore the Cap de Creus, Sant Pere de Rodes, the Albera Marítima, and the Dalí Theatre-Museum, among other regional highlights of Alt Empordà.
