Creativity and culinary identity in a 1919 building
Auteur cuisine tied to the produce of La Selva
The restaurant L’Aliança d’Anglès proposes a contemporary Catalan cuisine distinguished with a Michelin star. Chef Àlex Carrera leads a creative proposal grounded in technique and local produce. The project is structured exclusively around tasting menus of high gastronomic standards.
A family lineage with contemporary ambition
16/06/26
Located in the headquarters of a former 1919 agricultural cooperative, the establishment accumulates decades of history linked to the Feliu family. The third generation, headed by Cristina Feliu in the dining room, maintains the project’s identity by providing a professional and academic service.
Since the arrival of chef Àlex Carrera, the space has consolidated a haute cuisine format that balances the family legacy with contemporary rigor. The team organizes the offering through a constant search for culinary harmony and a meticulous management of the dining room rhythm. Àlex Carrera, trained at ESHOB with experience in benchmark establishments like El Celler de Can Roca, applies a refined execution that stands out for the intensity of clean flavors.
Technical delicacy and landscape of La Selva
The gastronomic proposal foregoes a fixed menu to focus on set formats that change according to strict seasonality.
The menus begin with conceptual references such as the so-called “vermouth time”, which reinterprets local aperitifs through creativity. Conceptual dishes like the Figueres onion in two sequences stand out, combining a cold bonbon with a fried version. The surf and turf concept anchors complex combinations such as pig’s tail with espardenya (sea cucumber) or the cuttlefish empedrat with red prawns. Local suppliers supply premium raw materials such as lamb from L’Empordà. Each dish is executed seeking purity of taste without unnecessary ornaments.
Integrated sommelierie and tasting formats
In the dining room, Cristina Feliu acts as front of house manager and sommelier, coordinating a wine list with a marked Catalan accent.
The selection includes wine pairing (pairing) options deeply integrated with the kitchen sequences. The restaurant offers two tasting formats adapted to the market. The Menú Descoberta presents a sequence of ten courses, while the Menú Emoció expands up to thirteen complex preparations. The price reflects the level of haute cuisine and the complexity of the service. The establishment is a recommended destination for those seeking strict auteur cuisine, prestigious business lunches, or dinners of a gastronomic nature.
Bon appétit ☺️ !
