Fine bubbles, depth and gastronomic pairings
06/29/26
This is the personal blend created by Manuel Raventós, a selection of the best wines from the vintage that is only bottled when the harvest reaches an exceptional level.
The 2018 blend combines Xarel·lo and Macabeo, recovering a broader and more structured profile. In the glass, it shows an intense golden colour, the result of six years of ageing on the lees. The bubbles are very fine and perfectly integrated.
🍷The nose reveals toasted notes, butter aromas and subtle tertiary nuances, while maintaining the freshness characteristic of the Conca del Riu Anoia. On the palate, it offers vibrant acidity, structure, volume and a silky texture that leads to a long finish with a pleasant slightly bitter note.
🥂🍽️ It is a sparkling wine designed for the table. It pairs particularly well with seafood, baked fish, intense rice dishes, roasted poultry, mushroom-based cuisine and aged cheeses.
Serving temperature, price and Gourmenials recommendation
This is a long-aged sparkling wine, so the recommended serving temperature is between 10 and 12 ºC, allowing it to fully express its aromatic complexity. It is also advisable to open the bottle a few minutes before serving to enhance its expression.
The approximate retail price is between €87 and €90, a range consistent with a limited production and a long ageing period. The Guía Peñín 2027 awarded it 100 points, the highest possible score, describing it as an example of slow, balanced and elegant ageing. The guide also highlights that the magnum format has contributed decisively to its evolution and roundness.
🍾⭐Gourmenials recommendation: a bottle particularly suited for important celebrations, shared moments around the table or for collectors looking for wines with ageing potential.
A rainy vintage and six years of ageing on lees
The 2018 vintage was marked by rainfall levels significantly above the average.
Winter and spring brought abundant precipitation, which favoured vegetative growth but also increased pressure from downy mildew and powdery mildew. The estate managed these conditions through phytotherapy, biological control and very low doses of copper. Summer brought extreme temperatures, reaching 40 ºC in early August, slightly accelerating the growing cycle. During harvest, a rigorous grape selection process was carried out in the vineyard. The Macabeo was harvested on 29 August 2018 and the Xarel·lo on 3 September 2018, seeking the best balance between sugar and acidity. After vinification, the wine remained six years ageing on the lees, a process that defines its texture, aromatic depth and ageing capacity.
