Catalan cuisine steps away from the Boquería

Finorri, a bistro of traditional recipes and technical execution

Slow-cooked stews and charcoal grilling in a “Noucentista” space

Soulful local cuisine restoring the neighborhood’s essence

Finorri is committed to authentic Catalan cuisine based on local products and classic recipes. Located on Carrer de la Boqueria, the project combines the heritage of traditional stews with precise modern techniques, offering an honest proposal that avoids tourist clichés to win over the local public. An impeccable wine list features established labels and emerging wineries noted for their craftsmanship

A neighborhood project with a gastronomic vision

Located on the ground floor of the Hotel Condal, the restaurant was founded under the direction of Josep Nicolau with the aim of restoring gastronomic identity to the heart of Barcelona.

The space, renovated in a discreet art nouveau style, features a large marble bar, an open kitchen, and white tablecloths that define its elegant bistro character. The kitchen team, led by Albert Soteras and Marc Vitega, brings a solid track record from renowned establishments such as 7 Portes and Enigma. In the dining room, Lluís Roig manages a steady service that encourages conversation, far from the usual rush of the area. The project focuses on preserving Catalan culinary legacy through a contemporary lens.

“Xup-xup” tradition and seasonal produce

The menu is concise and rests on three pillars: charcoal grilling, slow-cooked stews, and market-fresh ingredients.

Standout dishes include those requiring time and mastery, such as the oven-baked Finorri macaroni with slow-roasted meat or the squid stuffed with “perol” sausage. Technical skill is evident in preparations like the bluefin tuna parpatana with fricandó reduction or the veal meatballs with monkfish cheeks, a canonical “sea and mountain” pairing. Seasonality sets the pace with daily specials like creamy black trumpet mushroom rice or saffron milk caps with garlic and parsley. Every dish prioritizes clean flavors and the quality of raw materials..

Expert sommelier curation and signature pastries

The experience is rounded out by a wine selection designed by Rubén Pol, focused on family-run wineries that respect the terroir

The cocktail menu also follows the local narrative with creations such as the Espresso Català, made with ratafia as a nod to the classic Martini. In the sweet department, pastry chef Eva Feliu crafts high-flying desserts that balance the richness of the preceding courses. Highlights include the grilled peach with miso ice cream and the meringue with cucumber and aromatic herbs, a fresh and technical finale. Finorri is the right place for those seeking cuisine with a sense of memory in a sophisticated setting. It is ideal for business lunches with character or dinners where the product and the wine dictate the pace of the evening.
Enjoy ☺️ !
