The trajectory of Cinc Sentits is as atypical as it is fascinating, marked by the entrepreneurial spirit of the Artal family. Jordi Artal, professionally trained in Silicon Valley’s tech sector, decided to leave the digital world behind to return to his primary passion: gastronomy.

In 2004, alongside his sister Amèlia, he opened the establishment with a clear vision of a tasting menu that quickly captivated specialized critics.

The move in 2018 to the new premises on Entença Street marked the final consolidation of a project that now holds two Michelin stars. The current space has been meticulously designed to guide the diner through a physical and emotional journey that begins at the Faifó—a reception area where homemade vermouth and initial appetizers mark the threshold of a profound sensory voyage.

The creative rigor of an unstoppable family alliance

The success of Cinc Sentits is built on a structure where Jordi Artal’s self-taught talent combines with Amèlia Artal’s excellence in management.

Despite being born in Canada, the chef maintains an unbreakable bond with la Torre de l’Espanyol, his family’s village in the Ribera d’Ebre region. This connection is the source of his understanding of produce and the authentic flavors he learned from his mother and grandmother. Jordi applies a rigorous methodology that elevates this legacy to new heights of sophistication. Beside him, the front-of-house team led by Éric Vicente ensures a fluid and personalized service, where the narrative of wines from small Catalan producers complements the chef’s proposal. This artisanal approach allows the restaurant to maintain its own identity, ensuring that every ingredient has a clear DNA linked to the territory and the chef’s personal history.

A chain of sensations in the tasting menu

The gastronomic offering focuses exclusively on tasting menus that vary according to the rhythm of the seasons, offering between 8 and 11 steps of high emotional content.

The winter cuisine features noble ingredients such as Balfegó bluefin tuna, caviar, or Palamós prawns, integrated into compositions that play with surprising textures and flavors. Dishes where chestnut, venison, or pine nuts evoke the local landscape from a modern and refined perspective, always honoring the purity of the ingredient.

The experience can be personalized through wine pairings selected by the sommelier team, seeking harmony with seasonal produce.

With distinct spaces such as the Biblioteca Viva (Living Library), the restaurant invites guests to discover traditional fermentation and preservation processes, reaffirming Cinc Sentits’ commitment to signature gastronomy that feeds all the senses of the gourmet.
Bon appétit ☺️ !
